Kenneth Burnett
I am a medical student in Kansas City. I look forward to becoming a physician and serving the marginalized population. Being a part of the P2P Family/Cohort 19 lets me know that I don't have to plan alone. I believe it takes a village to raise a person. I intentionally say "person". Even as adults, I believe it is important that we continue to accept guidance in the form of criticism and mentoring. If we are not willing to unshackle ourselves from our pride and accept counsel, how can we expect the next generation to do so?!?! P2P has provided me with that guidance, mentoring... and criticism when I needed it. Though I am an adult, I have learned I still have a lot to learn. Being in an environment of like-minded individuals who have been through some of my same struggles, has strengthened my resolve. I appreciate and value the P2P community. I pray one day I can be to society what P2P has been to me: proof and reassurance that "better" is possible.
