Kandra Clark is a Strategic Partnerships Liaison & Senior Grant Writer with The Fortune Society. She has worked at Fortune for the past 6 years, beginning her journey in the Employment Services unit, and later working as a Court Writer in the Court Advocacy unit. In her current position she writes government and foundation grants to support Fortune’s wide array of services. In addition, she speaks publicly about her experiences during incarceration, as well as the challenges criminal justice-involved individuals face both during and after incarceration. Since her release from New York’s Beacon Correctional Facility on September 26, 2011, Kandra has earned an Associate’s Degree in Criminal Justice from LaGuardia Community College, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Humanities and Justice (summa cum laude) from John Jay College of Criminal Justice. |
