Jacob Eikenberry is the Director of Research and Evaluation. Beginning as a youth, Jacob experienced mental health and substance use issues, homelessness, incarceration in several jails and prisons, and the exacerbation of trauma following each period of incarceration. In 2009, Jacob embraced healing through engagement with mentorship and multiple community-based resources. The following year, he enrolled in a community college. The support he received while pursuing stability and navigating the newness of sobriety and college was pivotal in his current success. Over the previous 13 years, Eikenberry has worked in various social work roles, including researcher, instructor, caseworker, residential counselor, public speaker, volunteer, coalition builder, and community consultant and collaborator. He has worked with criminal justice-involved individuals, non-profit agencies, funders, prison education programs, drug treatment courts, state prosecutors’ offices, law enforcement, first responders, and jail/prison administrators. He uses his lived experience and knowledge to spearhead innovative research and create sustainable pathways for others to find their way home. Eikenberry holds a Bachelor of Psychology degree from the University of Illinois in Springfield and a Master of Social Work degree from Washington University in St. Louis. Tenaj Moody-Perry's intersecting identities as an Afro-Latina millennial raised in North Philadelphia, who survived domestic violence, poverty and having a parent who was incarcerated growing up, quickly taught Tenaj the power in owning her story and resilience. Meet P2P's Deputy Director of Research and Evaluation and Womxn's Cohort Facilitator. Tenaj’s career is defined by a fierce, unwavering commitment to shift the narrative around education, mental health, and advocacy. Possessing over two decades of collective experience in prison education, early childhood education and victim advocacy work, Tenaj is the Founder of a social enterprise called Light To Life, a program that provides gender-responsive programming for justice-impacted survivors of intimate-partner violence, and technical assistance to public and private sectors. STEPHEN G BARBER, MSStephen is a Special Projects Manager in the Office of Undergraduate Admissions at Johns Hopkins University. In this role, he is a direct report to Associate Vice Provost for Student Affairs and Executive Director for Activities and Programs in the Office of Student Affairs. In this role, he conducted benchmarking research on behalf of various divisions on topics ranging from social event registration policies at peer institutions, policies for reporting hazing incidents at peer institutions, fraternity and sorority recruitment policies at peer institutions, major event space registration policies at JHU 12 academic schools, critical incident communication procedures utilized by peer institutions, and international student scholarships offered at peer institutions.

Dr. Zaria DavisDr. Zaria Davis is a mentor, educator, and criminal justice reform advocate. She serves as a Senior Associate for Pretrial Justice Institute and consultant through her business, New Direction Coaching & Consulting, LLC with Operation Restoration for Unlock Higher Ed. Dr. Davis previously served as Executive Director for Lincoln Heights Outreach, Inc, assisting families by guiding them towards self-sufficiency. Zaria is passionate about issues around reentry and children impacted by mass incarceration and launched Filling The Gap Reentry Services in 2019, which will address many of the voids of services in her community for formerly incarcerated individuals. She has an ScM in Biostatistics from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health and has served as a research assistant in child health and as a teaching assistant in undergraduate-level biostatistics, data analysis, and R programming courses.

DR. SUZANNE PHILLIPSDr. Suzanne Phillips has graduated from Azusa Pacific University with her Ed.D. in Higher Education Leadership and Student Development. She obtained her master at California Baptist University with a focus in Public Administration and her bachelor's degree from California State University San Bernardino in Criminal Justice. Her dedication to reentry service stems from her witnessing a broken reentry system in 2012 when her friend and now husband reintegrated back into his community after a twenty-year sentence. Her passion for higher education and reentry continues as she is a professor for the Incarcerated Student Education Program at Cerro Coso Community College and teaches inside California Correction Institution (CDCR) Tehachapi California. She is dedicated to helping individuals who have been impacted by the criminal justice system. She was raised in Alaska but now resides in California. Charlotte has launched ReNForce, a nonprofit organization that compliments the labor force by administering tailored training and coaching to businesses and organizations that are looking to employ justice-involved individuals within their workforce. Charlotte also manages and operates Innovative Staffing Solutions whose responsibility is to staff and employ the underutilized workforce of justice-involved individuals.
Advocate, mentor, social change agent, and educator, Charlotte’s most recent endeavor is the establishing and presenting her customized trainings and workshops focused on workforce development and successful re-integration for those formerly incarcerated or justice involved. It is her desire to assist individuals returning home from incarceration with more professional and wholesome opportunities to obtain employment, housing, and goals for self-sufficiency. Through her vision, Charlotte intends to use her focus and passion to shift the community’s perception associated with mass incarceration. Through her personal experience, she works to change the stigma and prejudices surrounding formerly incarcerated and/or the directly impacted. My name is Dr. Kelsie Lynn Becklin, and I am a mom to a 12yo boy who is my reason to never give up. I am also an equestrian, avid nature explorer, and I am in my fifth year of graduate school pursuing my PhD in genetic engineering, stem and cancer cell biology. Specifically, I design models of pediatric sarcomas to better understand cancer initiation and progression as well as the development of cancer immunotherapies. But my life was not always so. After suffering several traumas I turned to drug use and involvement in acts which eventually put me in the hands and establishments of the federal justice system. A formerly incarcerated individual just released from parole on 8/29/20, Eric is leading the groundwork for founding a P2P location in St. Louis, Missouri. He has been involved with the P2P organization for over 3 years now joining originally as a scholar while still incarcerated. Currently he is active in his community as an outreach specialist, lead mentor in a juvenile justice program, and assisting with gun violence de-escalation strategies and efforts. Eric is also a fashion model and actor. He says that he is able to use these platforms to bring awareness to the community and to the be voice of those people who are not able to represent themselves. To him, it is about bringing the people most affected to the table in order to effect policy change. When asked what his goal with the P2P organization was, he responded "My goal is to be the founder of a chapter here in St. Louis, to work with policy makers, and to work to get our people to vote." Jerry moore, iiiJerry Moore is a formerly incarcerated individual who spent nine years in prison for armed criminal action and armed rob-bery. Moore is currently a hip-hop music artist and producer in St. Louis, Missouri and is enrolling in Nelly's Ex'treme Insti-tute (EI) musical producing program. Moore and Andrisse met in 2008 while incarcerated together. They promised each other to make a change once they re-turned. This promise is the inspiration behind From Prison Cells to PhD, Inc. Moore grew up in the infamously impoverished Walnut Park area in North St. Louis City. A lot of his troubles began due to the conditions he had been faced with growing up. Upon his release, he has been committed to his conscious change to making better decisions and is now helping others in his community. Education has been a large part of his transformation change.

DR. JONES ADDOHDr. Jones Addoh, MD is the founder of J. Addoh Underserved, LLC, which advises health care professionals, institutions & medical students on how to provide exceptional medical services for marginalized communities. I have rendered medical services for over 10 years to multiple under-represented populations as a mid-level provider and internal medicine resident physician. Before entering medical school, I gained some insight into the criminal justice system after working as a Physician Assistant for multiple adolescent detention centers in NYC. However, my interest in criminal justice exponentially heightened after reading Michelle Alexander’s, The New Jim Crow. Mass incarceration is a premiere issue in the underserved community.

JUSTIN WALKER, MBAJustin has seven years of experience as an Educational Independent Contractor at Justin Walker Tutoring Services, for which he is the founder. He is Squadron Commander at Civil Air Patrol. Pertinently, he has over 10 years of experience as a Student Life Counselor at the SEED School of Maryland working with at-risk Baltimore City youth helping them develop into young men. In this role, he helps guide and direct them as they soon move on to college life. The SEED School of Maryland opened in August 2008 and draws students from across the state. The school currently has an enrollment of 400 students from sixth through twelfth grades. The school's first class of seniors graduated in May 2015. Justin was with the school since its opening.

Before coming to Baltimore, she worked as a health information specialist at Seattle Children’s Hospital and volunteered with the Correctional Health Program at the Hepatitis Education Project.

Lisa punter-daileyMrs. Lisa Punter-Dailey is an author, speaker and learning professional with a focus on coaching, workforce development, training and program management. She has what is commonly referred to as a “portfolio career” by using her talents and experiences in various employment settings. Currently Ms. Punter-Dailey is a leadership development facilitator and trainers on various topics such as sexual harassment in the workplace, diversity and inclusion, professional etiquette, emotional intelligence and stress management. An adjunct instructor of higher learning Lisa is also a certified mental health instructor, conducts vision board workshops and a career development coach. Lisa has been an invited speaker to educational programs and faith-based organizations and is a self-published author of Contingency Planning in Today’s Workplace: Keeping your head above water and Occupassion: where passion and career meet (available on Lulu.com). Lisa is passionate about her mission to assistant individuals meet and exceed their potential by pursuing their “occupassion”.

Majid Mohammad - Colorado Ambassador2018 P2P Scholar
Majid Mohammad was incarcerated for 7 years at the age of 17. While incarcerated Majid was able to purse a higher education and ultimately earn an associates degree before completion of his sentence. Currently Majid is working toward his bachelors degree in Engineering Physics at the Colorado School of Mines. Since early 2018 Majid has worked with Prison to PhD, a non profit organization dedicated to supporting the transition of those incarcerated into higher education. Majid works with local lawmakers and other non profit organizations in Colorado in an effort to reframe the criminal justice reform conversation to focus on education and opportunity. |

RAHMARI JACKSONRahmari Jackson is a formerly incarcerated individual who spent nearly 13 years in prison on three prison stints related to drug sales from the time he was 17 years old to his early 30s. Most of his 20s was spent in prison. He was released twice before his most previous release. He was re-incarcerated within less than 6 months those first two releases. Jackson and Andrisse met while incarcerated. They spent many hours discussing how they would change upon release. Jackson was intrigued with Andrisse's work ethic even while incarcerated. They promised each other to stay connected when they returned. Jackson is now a licensed welder having completed his welding degree from Vatterott College. Andrisse assisted Jackson in the application and loan process for the Vatterott program. Higher education has changed Jackson's perspective on life. He has been free since 2011. This is his longest period of non-incarceration in his adult life. He now has a productive career and is devoted to helping others successful return from prison.

SARAH WETTER, JD, MPHSarah is a public health attorney. She has significant experience in using mixed methods to analyze local, state, and federal laws for their impact on public health. She has published articles on a variety of health law topics including governance, nutrition, addition and prescribing practices, emergency preparedness, and health information technology. Sarah received her undergraduate degree from Cornell University in Biology and Society with a minor in Spanish. She received her law degree from the Sandra Day O'Connor College of Law at Arizona State University, and her MPH from Johns Hopkins University.

Stephanie Andrisse is an elementary school educator with a Masters in Special Education and Educational Cultural Competence. She has 5 years’ experience of teaching in inner city environments including Ferguson, Missouri and Baltimore City.

tania banerjiTania Banerji is a student in the full-time MPH program, concentrating in Health Systems and Policy. She is interested in studying issues surrounding health equity, quality of care, improving access to healthcare services and applying systems thinking to inform health policy design. Tania received her Bachelor’s degree in Biology at California Institute of Technology and Masters in Environmental Engineering at Johns Hopkins University. She comes to the program from Portland, OR, where she worked on pre-clinical drug development for neurodegenerative diseases.

THOMAS K.M. CUDJOE, MD, MPH
Dr. Cudjoe is a physician in Geriatric Medicine at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. Additionally, Dr. Cudjoe is a Leader at Culture of Health Leaders. Culture of Health Leaders is a national leadership program supported by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation to support leaders—from all sectors that have an influence on people’s health—to create collaborative solutions that address health inequities and move their communities and organizations toward a Culture of Health.

YOLANDA KLEMMER, CNM, MPH, DRPH
Yolanda has over 20 years experience as a Certified Nurse-Midwife. In this role Yolanda saw the importance of father engagement and worked to incorporate it into the care she delivered. This interest led Yolanda to pursue and receive her doctorate in public health from Johns Hopkins School of Public health with a focus on fatherhood and health disparities. During her work as a Certified Nurse-Midwife, Yolanda also recognized how limited and disparate opportunities hindered untapped potential among underserved individuals. Yolanda’s interest in P2P stems from the desire to join efforts to empower marginalized individuals to reach their full potential and remove barriers, which contribute to disparities. Yolanda has experience in program coordination and program evaluation for which she is excited to bring those skills and knowledge to the P2P team!

ZACH STOUT - ARIZONA AMBASSADOR2019 P2P Scholar
Zach Stout is a first-generation college student attending the University of Arizona. After being incarcerated for 2.5 years, he overcame the numerous structural barriers in place for those impacted by the legal system, to receive his BA in Economics, Philosophy, and PPEL; all while graduating summa cum laude. Currently, he is in the first year of a dual master’s program: Master of Public Policy, and Master of Legal Studies (concentration Law and Economics). Mr. Stout is an advocate for criminal justice reform and is especially passionate about expanding access to higher education for those who are incarcerated. Upon completion of his graduate degrees, Mr. Stout plans to attend law school and earn his Juris Doctorate. |

William Freeman2019 P2P Scholar
William Freeman served more than 20 consecutive years incarcerated in Maryland. In that time, he completed, co-founded, and facilitated numerous educational and self-help cognitive programs--including 75 Goucher College credits through Goucher Prison Education Partnership. He knows firsthand about the transformative power of higher education. He joined Out For Justice as an intern and was promoted to the research committee lead. William enjoys utilizing his lived experience to inform policy. He believes that it is more important for him to be involved in the legislative process to effect sustainable change in the community he helped to destroy than to standby silent as an involuntary participant. William recently accepted a Coordinator position with P2P (Prison to PhD), where he will work to connect P2P Scholars behind the wall returning into the community to connect with P2P Mentors and Tutors. William advocates for higher education, but he realizes that pragmatically implementing lessons learned in the classroom can be problematic for formerly incarcerated people. |

DANIEL BULLMAN2020 P2P Scholar
Daniel Bullman is a public health researcher who works with justice impacted individuals to build webs of support. Directly impacted, he knows the toll adjudication takes on mental health and family resiliency. Daniel supports sustainable community development as the volunteer management coordinator for From Prison Cells to PhD, and previously as a community affairs officer for the City of Indianapolis, where he led a team of 30 volunteers to connect with communities and identify strategies to improve quality of life that were traditionally addressed through law enforcement action. Daniel is a certified community health worker and has been previously recognized by the City of Indianapolis and the Ball State University Alumni Association for his work addressing placemaking, healthcare access, and food insecurity in Indianapolis. Daniel holds a Bachelors Degree in Applied Behavior Analysis from Ball State University and is a graduate student studying applied public health practice at Georgia Southern University. |
