Speaking Engagements
"Being who you are is a matter of understanding and appreciating your past, and building your future"
We have engaged hundreds of people through our public and professional speaking engagements.
We use our speaking engagements as a donation opportunity for you to invest in Prison-to-Professionals (P2P) and its Scholars. Our negotiable honorarium/donation ranges depending on the organization (nonprofit, government, private sector, etc.) and the event (short talk, long talk, panel, workshops, training, etc.). The entirety of your payment will be a donation to P2P, whether paid to the individual or the organization. Preferably, the payment can be made to From Prison Cells to PhD (PCTP) as a tax-deductible donation. PCTP is a registered 501(c)(3). The donation range is a negotiable suggestion. More importantly is spreading our message of hope.
Our approach:
We are working on training several others (with criminal conviction(s) and returning from prison) in hopes of building a team of speakers to inspire through their stories. We incorporate hip-hop into some of our talks. Several of our speakers are up-and-coming artists.
We craft each speech individually and slightly differently depending on our audience. Three recurring titles we have used are "Pathways to greatness", "Unlock your potential", and "Sharing our story to inspire your story." Our scientific speeches are mostly focused on my diabetes research.

Our approach:
- Envision our target audience,
- Identify and become one with the topic,
- deliver a timely, relevant, engaging and valuable message to the audience,
- Seek to help attendees improve in some measurable aspect, and
- Provide relevant, actionable conclusions.
